It has only been 96 years since we,

as women were allowed to vote. We were Beaten, Tortured and Jailed for asking that our voice be heard. We did not just want to be seen we wanted to be heard and treated equally.

Tonight, one woman reached a peak no other woman has, she is our Democratic nominee for President of the United States.

I salute my sisters and the brothers that support us.

the right to vote by the 19th Amendment.

It did take a little while, about 6 years, because Wilson was trying to garner support among the Southern Democrats for passage and ratification.

We are not going back, we fought to hard.
