Columbine Survivor Turns to Occupy LA for Foreclosure Help

CrossXBones ‏@Cross_X_Bones

Richard Castaldo, Columbine Survivor, works with #OccupyLA and #OccupyFightsForeclosures to save his condo

Castaldo fought for his life 13 years ago in Colorado and will spend the rest of his life in a wheel chair. Now, he is fighting to keep his condominium in Southern California. Like millions of Americans, he is about to lose his home to foreclosure.

Castaldo’s story mirrors that of countless homeowners who were hit hard by the housing crisis and fell victim to predatory lending. He was advised to take an interest-only loan to buy an overpriced property.

At one of their meetings, he met a lawyer who is now trying to help him, but he doesn’t have much time. Castaldo’s condo is scheduled to be sold at a foreclosure auction in December.

1. May I say something about karma here?

Bullying only pays off so far, kid.

2. I can't seem to find anywhere that suggests he was a bully

I could be missing something but there is nothing in the article about that, that I see, and I don't see anything else in publications that says he was a bully. Are we assuming because he got shot he was a bully?

4. I believe they mean the Columbine victim. I'm unclear on whether the victim was actually one of

those whose behaviour helped push the attackers into action.

And we have opened an incredible can of worms, here.

5. Not Firewalk.

Not by any stretch of the imagination.

7. Castaldo's story has been called into severe doubt.

Apparently he's told multiple versions of it, referring to different girls, and others have told similar stories not involving him.

I don't believe a word he says.
