Yet so many Republicans are strutting around in defiance, and with great pride at the collection of fools and idiots that they have representing their party. It's bad enough that this slate of candidates is the "best" they could come up with... but the fact that they're so pleased with themselves reveals much about their party.

I think (and hope) that we are witnessing the beginning of the end of the Republican party. After losing this presidential election, heads will explode (or roll) and the party will become weaker. They'll bicker and feud internally, they'll be looking to blame everyone but themselves. They'll become fractured and disorganized and by the time of the next census, the Dems will (hopefully) be able to end the gerrymandering that helps to perpetuate this obsolete party's power.
