I know some of it is racism, but why really??

A discussion on Facebook had me asking this very question. Almost like Jeff Daniels in the Newsroom: What Freedoms have you lost since President Obama took office. One of the dopes says the National Day of Prayer. That was debunked by yours truly with Snopes. Well another braniac didn't like the link from Snopes so I posted the actual links within the Snopes piece - and nothing. When you ask again they can't give me a straight answer. I'm posting tonight Will McAvoy's actual line from Newsroom tonight on Facebook: Name 3 Freedoms you no longer have since President Obama took office.

But really, why do they hate him?? You call them out on their racism and they have nothing . . .

They are filled with rage, partly because they are afraid, and that rage--like all rage--is unreasoning. They allow others to direct it for them. It's a manifestation of that Kahnemann thing about frequency of repetition.

Don't bother trying to reason with them. It's like trying to explain to a 2 year-old that his tantrum behavior is misdirected. It desn't matter to the 2 year-old. The tantrum is a Ding an sich.

They hated Bill Clinton almost as much. They use race as bait to goad the Tea Party people, the birthers, and their racist base. But, it is because he is a democrat. They hate those things that he has carried over from the Bush administration even though they championed them when Bush was president. If Obama said air was good for you they would all hold their breath.

6. He's a threat that's why.

They've completely bought into the us-against-them mentality. Liberals and Democrats are treated as an enemy and given no quarter despite facts and common sense.

Obama is a very capable, intelligent and POPULAR Democratic president. He's everything they've been programmed to hate and a real threat to their party politically. The fact that he's black just adds to much of their irrational hatred.

It's sad really. I've gotten to the point where I just pity them. Many are a lost cause and, if they ever do realize even some truth about how wrong they are, they will never admit it.

The robber barons hate him because Obama leads the populist demand to get corruption of money out of politics. They have their hands busy writing and blocking legislation that would interfere with their access to tax $$$ and unfair business rules.

The Christian extremists are frightened that secularism and science will remove the curtain that hides what's really inside the temple. The Cathedral of St Grifter depends on that 10% tithe, plus special and obligatory donations for this and that. Plus there's all that control they love so well.

as ignorant, arrogant, immoral and unpatriotic. 1. You're no longer allowed to choose your own doctor? Oh wait a minute. Nothing's changed.

2. Whether or not you remain on life support or doctor's take extraordinary measures to save your life is now being determined by a panel of government experts (a "death panel" if you will) . Oh wait a minute. That's not happening either.

3. Government bureaucrats are now between you and your doctor and making decisions about the kind of care you receive. Oh wait a minute. That's not happening either.

16. Talk Radio and Fox News..

The haters have no original thoughts. They have to listen to one of their gods and follow direction. I find it funny that after any major event there is dead silence UNTIL... Rush, Hannity, Beck or one of hundreds of talk radio idiots leaders across the nation tell them what to think and say. There is always easy "Catch" phrases such as "Freedom is not free" Marriage is between a man & a woman" The way you teach a toddler to repeat it over & over. Have you ever listened to one of these shows? I don't know why they need to hire that many people.. Just one recording of " Obama is bad. Democrats, are Bad, Liberals are bad. Republicans love God & Country, Democrats hate God & Country..AND one of the most important things is Ronald Reagan was the most wonderful political leader who ever was!

My experience is that it's very rare for facts to sway people who adhere to the talking points.
