2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWell since Hillary is inevitable, who would she pick for a running mate?
How would she triangulate this?
She could go for the Midwest vote, and pick Rahm Emmanuel.
Or employ her very own southern strategy, and hook up with Zell Miller or Charlie Crist.
Or an experienced pro, like Joe Liebermoron.
How about ole "Whats his name" from Iowa?
Let's put our thinking caps on, and find the perfect DLC-New Dem-Third wayer to round out the ticket!

(4,822 posts)I didn't know you were sincere. I'll go with Julian Castro but whoever she picks I know they'll be great.

(15,859 posts)There's little acceptance for warm purple squishy bullshit this season.
I might actually vote against her.

(8,846 posts)I've heard his short list is down to.
1) Kim Jong Un
2) Raul Castro
3) Manny Goldstein
Don't forget Roseanne Barr.

(94,501 posts)...BTW, can you share your hostile opposition to Gore/Lieberman with us?
bunnies
(15,859 posts)But you guys dont give a fuck about the "left" anyway. Gore picked a fucking republican as a running mate yet it the LEFTS fault that he lost.

(94,501 posts)But my question was, can you show us examples of your disdain during the 2000 election?

(15,859 posts)I must have misread /misinterpreted your post. Anecdotally, I was really fucking pissed off about the Lieberman decision. I felt like he (Gore) was already on life support before he did that. I voted for him (of course) but knowing I was voting for Joe L at the same time made me angry. And nauseous. Ick.

(2,760 posts)It gave me the solid excuse to not cast a vote for Lieberman. I would have been too sick to function had I been faced with that. I was stunned that Gore would make such an odious choice.

REASON FOR ALERT
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.
ALERTER'S COMMENTS
Don't hide this. Nothing to see here.
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Tue Dec 1, 2015, 07:53 PM, and the Jury voted 1-6 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: "Disruptive meta-discussion is forbidden." Check.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Ok, will take your advice "nothing to see here". Shrug
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: The alert make absolutely no sense. WTF?
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: What a surprise, a jury call and it's a polarizing thread and an hyper itchy alert finger. Both camps take turns. Always the same 20 people from the two camps.
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.
I was juror #2

(6,282 posts)It prevents someone from the opposition submitting a (likely bogus) alert that is actually serious. Something to keep in mind for contentious OPs in the future.

I think Corey Booker will be in the mix.

Why wouldn't Hillary double down by picking another woman? Would anyone give more excitement than Warren?
