AMC showing Pretty Woman all week; here's why

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I think it's a clever move. Because the Richard Gere character basically IS MITT ROMNEY. The whole sub-plot is about his plan to buy up a failing company, break it up and sell it off. Julia Roberts points out that he doesn't make anything... but money.

At the end his love of Julia has softened him up and he decides to change his ways and build that company, not destroy it.

Maybe just a bid for viewers, or maybe a clever political move.

I feel the same way about Forest Gump too. It's like getting a 100 lb cake with extra strawberry frosting getting stuffed down your throat all at once.
