Introducing Discussionist: A new forum by the creators of DU

How can anyone take Yahoo! seriously?

What a fucking joke.

Their main headline:

'This is not uniting, this is dividing'
Paul Ryan accuses President Obama of creating the "most partisan" atmosphere he's ever seen.

Their other headlines:

- Republicans mock Obama for softball interviews

- Former Democrat stumps for Paul Ryan in Virginia

- AARP bristles at new Obama ad on Medicare

They don't even hide their bias reporting anymore. Four headlines - four are all anti-Obama. Not a positive one in the bunch.

1. I consider Yahoo is on the same level as Freeperland.

Only with a lot more ads.
The comments are much the same.
Never go there any more.

2. I only go for three reasons...

1) When I wake up, a quick glance delivers me the most important stories. So, I can see if something major has happened/or is happening. Generally, I don't read beyond the main story they have because, well, it pisses me off how many anti-Obama stories I see.

2) Its stock watch is pretty clear and concise. I can tell if the market is in the positive or the negative, which is always important in an election year (I did the same in '08 and today, the Dow, Nasdaq and S&P are in the green).

3) I still have one e-mail account over there I check every now and then.

12. For #1, Google News will provide you with the same, but unbiased.

It would be better for #2 also. Why support a rw leaning "news" source out of habit?

3. I agree. It's a horrible site.

The writing some of their articles is humorous for all the mistakes.

5. OH I HEAR YOU ON THAT ONE!!!

I've been saying for a couple of months I'm getting sick of their bias coverage. Being overseas I only have CNN. My other options are all on the internet. I can watch Tweety and Maddow and any of the other NBC political shows the day after they air. Content on some sites are blocked for which I have a VPN.

I'm just hoping I can get some decent coverage for the conventions *rubs hands together screaming "bring on the blood"*

6. I know. And in this case I couldn't even get past the first item you listed.

It's not the "most partisan" atmosphere he's ever seen. It's just the only time he's ever seen Democrats fight back.

Yahoo is ridiculous for pushing garbage like this.

7. This one caught my eye:

2.3 million U.S. toilets recalled over explosions

8. I stopped taking them seriously years ago.

The comments sections to their stories are absolutely vile, to grossly understate things. The fact that they let that kind of shit stand, without any sort of standards, makes it very difficult to respect anything they post.

NBC news has a righty editor who is obsessed about wars
