The current plan is expected to have recipients paying
more than $6,000 a year? That's a little over $500 a month! Has anyone seen this before? And would that number include copays (20%) or premiums for supplemental coverage and Part D premiums and copays for meds or just for basic premiums excluding prescription drug coverage (ie. Part B)?

How is this all calculated?

Also, on MTP the cons were insisting Pres O cut $700 billion from Medicare and not even Rachel jumped in to say that the savings were. From the extra 15% paid to insurance companies to cover Medicare Advantage ... which was supposedly being phased out. That's what we've been told all along, so it looks suspicious that it seems to be missing from the discussion -- especially when the cons are now accusing O of "stealing" the billions from Medicare to pay for ACA.

This whole thing is making me jumpy.

Out-of-Pocket Medical Costs Would Skyrocket for Low-Income Seniors and People with Disabilities Under the Ryan Budget Plan

The statistics are for the poorest seniors and people on SS disability, who currently have most out of pocket costs covered by Medicaid. They're dual recipients of both programs now but not under Ryan's "throw Granny from the train under the bus plan."
