Cillizza: Hillary Clinton’s TPP flip-flop, annotated

Cillizza: Hillary Clinton’s TPP flip-flop, annotated

HILLARY CLINTON: What I know about it, as of today, I am not in favor of what I have learned about it. And there’s one other element I want to make because I think it’s important. Trade agreements don’t happen in a vacuum, and in order for us to have a competitive economy in the global marketplace, there are things we need to do here at home that help raise wages and the Republicans have blocked everything President Obama tried to do on that front.

CILLIZZA: H-E-D-G-E.

HILLARY CLINTON: So for the larger issues — and then what I know, and again, I don’t have the text, we don’t yet have all the details, I don’t believe it’s going to meet the high bar I have set.

CILLIZZA: Here’s Clinton from a 2012 speech in Australia: “TPP sets the gold standard in trade agreements to open free, transparent, fair trade, the kind of environment that has the rule of law and a level playing field. And when negotiated, this agreement will cover 40 percent of the world’s total trade and build in strong protections for workers and the environment.”

So….

2. Skillful calculation is important in a President

But all things considered, for the Democratic primaries this kind of triangulation can only take you so far. And of course there might be blowback from within the Obama administration. There is already impatience for having to expend time and resources on the e-mail controversy.

7. Not really. Vermont has the lowest deaths by gun per capita of any state.

And the whole gun argument is only a small part of the problem. I have guns, and don't feel the need to use them on people. It's not a gun problem. It's an unbalanced people in a rotten society problem. Kids growing not knowing if they'll have a job, raised by parents who listen to FOX, and a future that looks bleak.

We're raising children to be unwell. It's more an economic problem than availability of guns.

8. So - let's see if I have got this straight - Hillary has multi-multi-million Super PACs,

like Correct (Obfuscate) Hillary's Record, that will spend millions trying to smear Bernie, and Hillary's supporters are all pissy about one reporter. Talk about feeling entitled to dish it out, but outraged at having it dished right back - that's POLITICS, y'all! As we Bernie supporters have been condescendingly told.

Man, someone must have really believed that the "resistance is futile, they WILL join the Borg" thing was actually going to work. Amazing. All those millions spent, and what ya got was hey! Play the Gender card! Disregard issues unless forced! Act as if the primaries are over, before a single vote is cast!
There really must not have been a plan B.

10. Let me save him the trouble

this is what he wants to say and what he has already said about her. BIT....H That is all we need to know about him and his paper. If he had called Obama a negro, or Bernie a hymie he wouldn't be covering anyone much less them but he calls a female the b word and all is good in Washington.

12. I don't like Clinton, but calling her the b-word is disgusting

No one should ever insult her like that. If anyone gets the urge, just call her "The Queen" instead, it's a lot less offensive, and still makes the point known.
