Clinton Campaign Fundraising in Paris During Fashion Week

Fashionista: ANNA WINTOUR SPEARHEADS FASHION FUNDRAISERS FOR HILLARY CLINTON

Through the last few election cycles, Anna Wintour (editor of Vouge magazine) has made it clear that she's a left-leaning political junkie. She very actively endorsed President Barack Obama in both 2008 and 2012, and has already committed herself to Hillary Clinton's campaign efforts since the former Secretary of State announced her candidacy in April.

With just over five months until the Iowa caucuses and 14 months until the general election, it appears that Clinton can already rely on the fashion industry for both support and funding. On Sunday, Tory Burch hosted a fundraiser for Clinton at her plush, 15.4-acre home in the Hamptons with a 200-person guest list that included Wintour, Martha Stewart, Donna Karan and Barneys owner Richard Perry.

Wintour and Burch, particularly, have long served as unofficial liaisons between the liberal fashion community and the Democratic Party.

Now, Wintour may be taking her advocacy for Clinton internationally, and during her busiest time of year. Page Six reports that Clinton's top aide of 19 years, Huma Abedin, is headlining a Paris fundraiser for the presidential hopeful's campaign during the city's Fashion Week on Oct. 4. Per the publication, Wintour will also take time out of her front row schedule to attend the event as a "special guest." Vogue declined to comment on the report.

Politico: Huma Abedin hosts a Paris soiree with Anna Wintour

Huma Abedin rekindles her relationship with Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour next month — only this time, the chic duo will meet in Paris, hosting a cocktail fundraiser for Abedin’s boss, Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton.

One thousand dollars buys entry to "An Evening with Huma Abedin and Anna Wintour" on Oct. 4, according to the invitation obtained by KGB File, at the Paris home of James Cook, an American-born financial businessman dubbed "the father of the Russian mortgage" by Passport Magazine, a publication for expats in Russia. For $2,700, the maximum personal donation, a guest may attend the event and become a member of Clinton's Abroad Regional Finance Committee.

Sounds like this is for American expatriates. It's interesting. I wonder how many campaign events are held overseas?

UPDATE

Here's something from 2012: Candidates Look Overseas To Raise Campaign Funds

The Democratic president and his Republican challenger have been aggressively courting Americans living abroad at fundraisers held far beyond U.S. shores. Such efforts serve the dual purpose of raising money to pay for what may be the most expensive election in U.S. history, and galvanizing a largely untapped group of eligible voters.

Obama has raised nearly $600,000 from Americans abroad while Romney has brought in about $325,000, according to campaign finance records analyzed by the Center for Responsive Politics.

Apparently Romney hit London, Jerusalem, and Hong Kong.

Obama (or surrogates) hit Shanghai, Paris, London, and Geneva.

I assume there needs to be big money donors to justify going overseas.

If you're going to criticize Mrs. Clinton, please focus on the issues. As a Sanders supporter I will definitely refrain from attacking Mrs. Clinton's appearance. Glass houses.

Not to mention a fake university!

If one wanted to one could mock anything because of nothing.....as some do compulsively.

"Get Clinton"

And some others.

Why would anyone pay $1,000 - $2,700 to spend and evening with Huma Abedin & Anna Wintour?

I could see someone wanting to meet Anna but what is special about Huma? Does she sing and dance or do comedy routines?

Abedin and Wintour’s friendship goes back several years, beginning with the Clinton adviser’s first multi-page Vogue spread, titled “Hillary’s Secret Weapon,” in 2007. In 2010, Wintour’s fashion bible included a photo of a glowing Abedin in her custom Oscar de la Renta wedding gown; Abedin wed Anthony Weiner, then a respectable member of Congress, at New York’s Oheka Castle.

People living overseas or traveling vote, too. Why not? If we start trashing candidates for campaigning, where will we stop? Who cares, really?

would think that Hillary Campaign might not want to have Huma brought up with the current questions over her four different jobs while at State--plus, her husband Anthony's very embarrassing moments with his internet photos that cost him his political career.

What was the Campaign Thinking?
