Tennessee lawmaker says Obama may stage fake assassination

http://politicalwire.com/archives/2012/07/31/tennessee_lawmaker_says_obama_may_stage_fake_assasination.html

Sadly, this pathetic, sick story isn't from the "Onion" either....The current GOP is simply despicable and dangerous beyond description....

"Tennessee state Rep. Kelly Keisling (R) emailed constituents "with a rumor circulating in conservative circles that President Barack Obama is planning to stage a fake assassination attempt in an effort to stop the 2012 election from happening," the Huffington Post reports"..

that "Obama" was going to have the votes for the election this year counted over in Switzerland.

I work our poll, and was confused when a couple of people were asking weird questions during the day, until someone flat asked if the votes were being counted in Switzerland. I was like, "WHAT?" He said, he had heard that "Obama" was going to have the votes tallied in Switzerland.

We spend a hour after the poll closes tallying votes, then take them to the county office to have the posted.

But, sure, it was outsources to Switzerland.

These people will believe WTF AM radio tells them.

I try to keep on hand a few applications to work the polls so that I can give those kind of people an invitation to join me.
Once they have been through training, they will be a lot easier to live with.
For one thing, Obama does not run elections. No candidate runs them or counts any of the votes. Not in my state anyway.
Our "Chief" is of the same party as the Governor. Our workers (Election Officers) are split as evenly as possible between the two parties. We don't register to vote as a D or R, so the application to work the polls just asks which party you want to represent.

You only take an hour to count the votes? Fortunately, the scanner separates the write-ins and counts the rest of the votes. The Winvote machines tally each other. Then it's spreadsheet forms to fill out. We have to transcribe each write-in. Sometimes it takes a while to figure out a voter's handwriting. Is M. Mouse the same person as Mickey Mouse, what about Mikey Mouse?

Getting back to fantasy...
Isn't it better for Obama to have the Swiss, with their reputation for precision, counting the votes rather than Romney outsourcing it to India, with their reputation for screwed up call centers.

They didn't hate the poor, or people of other races. they didn't attack the President, if he was not a republican. They were normal.

What passes for the republican party now is nothing more than a pit of human waste. The moderate republicans, and the normal conservatives have let the batshit crazy extremists take over the Party.

There should be a fight at the Convention, when the GOP takes the party back from the tea party racists, and wingnuts.

I'm utterly sickened that they're even TALKING about assassination at all... that should be a subject that never ever enters anyone's vocabulary in America, regardless of what party they belong to. It's heart-wrenching to see that there are people who would even think this...

Wed Aug 1, 2012, 02:00 PM
Aug 2012

Statements from Tennessee Democratic Party Chairman Chip Forrester and the Democratic candidate running to replace Keisling, David Harper.

Forrester: “Republicans in the legislature are bound and determined to turn Tennessee into a laughing stock with their ridiculous antics,” said Forrester. “For Kelly Keisling to use state resources to send out a rumor-filled and dangerous email is an egregious abuse of power and tax payer dollars. The people of his district and of Tennessee deserve to have a representative who is focused on their well-being, not in spreading fear and inducing panic.“

Harper: “If you promote this kind of a foolish and malicious rumor, you should take ownership of it,” said David Harper, Democratic candidate running to replace Keisling. “It is totally inappropriate for my opponent to use taxpayer funds on an effort to distract voters from his failure to deliver on his campaign promises. I chose to run because I could no longer tolerate these crackpot conspiracy theories and side-issues taking priority over local needs such as jobs, education, roads, and infrastructure.”

Those of you Republicans reading this now, be aware that the fake assassination plans may reveal themselves anywhere--even among your fellow friends, employees, and Republican fundraisers.

It is even possible that Democratic false-flaggers have infiltrated your organizations and are planning the event inside of your own party, funding it with Republican money. In fact, I think it is a near certainty that the planners have set up shop inside the Republican Party and are planning it with Republican money.

You can foil the President's plans by simply reporting what you have learned to the US Secret Service and the Department of Justice. Don't wait--do it now!

Remember, anyone who would even joke about such a thing is a bad Republican and a bad American, so don't trust anyone, especially those who share your own political ideals.

Score one for America by stopping this outrage before it has a chance to start!
