Hey Texas!!!! Vote for Dewhurst in Texas for Senator!! (Yes, he has an (R), but read first)

In Texas, I hope Democrat Paul Sadler will be the new junior U.S. Senator of Texas. Sadler is a self-proclaimed Progressive with a proven track record behind his liberal Democrat label. But, despite my hopes, recent Texas electoral history and the state’s political climate suggest the November election will not send Sadler to Washington, D.C.

So, Progressive Democrats should participate in tomorrow’s Republican Primary Runoff between former Texas Solicitor General Ted Cruz and Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst. For Progressive Democrats, David Dewhurst is the best option.

Dewhurst publicly affirmed his support for a guest-worker program in 2007. His more recent anti-immigrant rhetoric represents his response to Cruz attacking his conservative credentials – not a surprising shift for an office-seeking candidate. But if Dewhurst is elected to a six-year term and Democrats make significant electoral gains in the nation’s legislative body (likely with the President on the ballot), the Lieutenant Governor’s prior support for immigration reform might re-emerge. In addition, the six-year term will permit Dewhurst to work with President Barack Obama (presuming he wins a second term) on immigration reform, since Dewhurst wouldn’t face re-election until 2018.

Ted Cruz, on the other hand, has not exhibited progressive behavior at all. Cruz will undoubtedly be, as other Tea Party - affiliated candidates have been, loyal to a fault to radical Conservatives.

UNDERSTAND: I normally don't support the GOP, and Dewhurst will be on my shitlist when the time comes for the general election. BUT...it would be an UNMITIGATED HORROR for Cruz to get the nomination.

It is important...IF YOU DID NOT VOTE IN THE DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY, YOU CAN VOTE...and you MUST VOTE FOR DEWHURST!! PLEASE make this go viral...

And he's spent this entire runoff trying to out-crazy Ted Cruz. So fuck him.

Anyway, like most real Texas Democrats, I voted in our primary and couldn't vote in the GOP primary even if I wanted to. And frankly, I'd rather be torn apart by wild animals than let that happen.

You are trying to paint Dewhurst as some kind of moderate who is pro immigration reform, and that his stupid ass commercial wanting to triple the border patrol and give them special powers is just to compete with Cruz.

I can't vote for a Republican. Never have and never will. Especially not now.

Why don't you spend your time working to get Sadler elected, instead of trying to convince Dems to vote for Dewhurst?

There is a very bad feeling about the OP. Like I am being sold something. Lied to.
Pukes know that the crazy Tea Party Jerk will have a very hard time getting elected. Middle of the roaders, just might not show up to vote at all. Yes. That is correct, might not show up. Not everyone is of the "teaparty"..So a puke troll would indeed push for a
more moderate senate candidate. The more moderate..(if that word can be used) would surely have no trouble defeating us, given the history of the Republican Paraty in Texas.

The original post feels wrong. He protests to much..I cannot buy the sence of it, and it feels very bad. That is what trolls do.
It sounds well..Ok..maybe..but...the arguement is absurd. Not at all in our benefit..do you get the picture???

This is a SPECIAL REQUEST, and I do NOT BELIEVE this is a terms of service violation. Let me explain.

First, let's be UTTERLY clear. Ted Cruz would be an ABSOLUTE DISASTER. Why?

1. Obviously, he's a teabagger. But having said that, it's probably a given that the GOP is going to win this seat, as they don't need to commit voter fraud for all those oil-soaked cowboys to vote bagger. I sure as hell don't want to see Cruz on the general ticket as the rethug nominee.

2. This is ONLY a primary. This is NOT THE FINAL ELECTION. So we can still vote Sadler.

3. My rating scale:

Sadler: 100% preferred.
Dewhurst: 98% preferred.
Cruz: 0% preferred.

Yes, Dewhurst is a douche. But it is ABSOLUTELY FREAKIN' IMPERATIVE that we take out Cruz...NOW!

I don't wish to wax poetic. Now is NOT THE TIME for the discussion. Cruz MUST BE TAKEN OUT IN THE PRIMARY.

SOOOO...if you have NOT VOTED in the primary for Sadler, then you are ALLOWED TO VOTE IN THE GOP PRIMARY. Get all your buddies who have NOT voted, and vote for Dewhurst.

It's better to have a gnat than a snake to run against in the general election. THEN WE VOTE FOR SADLER.

But NOW...KEEP CRUZ OUT!!!

It needs to be organized. It requires a campaign that reaches enough voters to convince them to follow it. It won't work. Better to spend resources on other efforts.
