His remarks on Russia have similarly elicited questions. Assessing Americas international challenges, Mr. Romney declared Russia is without question our number one geopolitical foe. The remark seemed to ignore Chinas overwhelming growth in influence and stature, and the ongoing crises of the Middle East, not least Irans nuclear ambitions. Though, having ceded decision-making authority on that front to Israel, perhaps Mr. Romney felt the file was closed.
The Financial Times Geoff Dyer noted that Mr. Romneys agenda tone harks back more to the era of George H.W. Bush than to any recent developments.

(19,458 posts)Going back to the Cold War, are we??? Romney and his pals can THANK President Obama and his crew for making terrorism something that is not on the front burner this election. He made us safer, so now Mitt is creating new enemies. Basically, they got nothing. So they are going to revive the whole Cold War thing. So, Are we going to be building fall out shelters in our yards again???

I really don't get it. Are they trying to bring back the USSR? Are they trying to start WW Three? They aren't even part of Bush's Axis of Evil.
Someone PLEASE Explain. I'm very clueless on this issue.
The only thing I know that Russia has done that is awkward is block intervention in Syria. And that's not worth fighting over. Is it because they sell arms to Afghanistan?
