If Bernie REFUSES to hate on Hillary, then why do many of his DU supporters do it?

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by cyberswede (a host of the 2016 Postmortem forum).

Isn't it hypocritical? I think Bernie himself, who I totally admire and will support if nominated, would be DISGUSTED by the sort of rotten things that some of his supporters are constantly doing here on DU. She isn't attacking Bernie Sanders. He isn't attacking her. So why are some Bernie supporters attacking her here? I lean toward Hillary, but I also really like Bernie too.

Hillary is NOT a "Republican."

She is NOT "right wing."

She is NOT a "liar." (The email thing is a load of foolishness being pushed endlessly by a bored and biased corporate media.)

She is someone who came right out of the American middle class raised by a mother who came from poverty and abandonment.

She has fought endlessly for women and children, was a good First Lady, a good Senator, and a very good Secretary of State. Is she a purist? No. My goodness, so few politicians and human beings are completely pure. Is she generally PROGRESSIVE, you bet your ass she is, and the Mount Everest of her record proves it beyond any argument. To say Hillary Clinton is "conservative" or "right wing" or any of that is sheer non-reality.

There is a VERY good chance Hillary will be the nominee. And I like her because she is STRONG, takes the fight HARD to the RePUKES, and would be a good president. She is BRILLIANT and VERY WELL QUALIFIED.

Also, again, I really like Bernie Sanders and agree with him on most issues and, again, will support Bernie if he is nominated. I don't have a bad thing to say about him and never have. (Yes, I have pointed out some issues around his viability, but nothing negative. Just some political analysis. NO attacks.)

So, as Bernie says, "enough is enough" and let's end the "negative campaigning", let's end the drama, and let's see the best in ALL of our candidates and not the worst.

Because Clinton supporters have insisted he's a Segregationist, and responsible for slavery in virginia

because they insist he is a rapist.

because they insist he protects pedophiles.

because according to them he's a gun nut in the pocket of the NRA.

To hear Clinton supporters talk, he is - I quote, "A republican with his head between women's legs."

He's said by Hillary supporters to be more loyal to Tel Aviv than the US.

On top of that he's craven, since he asked for (and did not receive) conscientious objector status.

Oh yeah, and all he thinks about is money, and he "has a problem with black people."

yeah, we know what that song and dance is about, Hillary supporters.

On top of that, he's a socialist! he has funny hair! Did you know he's white AND Jewish (yeah, like I said, we know what you're saying) The polls show that his numbers at 1:00 AM are the same as at 11:00 PM last night, he's peaked! We only support him because we're sexist white supremacists who hate Hillary and want republicans to win hargblargblargle!

All the OPs and posts about Bernie's perceived lack of support, his endorsements that some do not like, his refusal to use the Congressional gym, where, it seems, most deals are struck?, all those and more - those people are merely being HELPFUL, because they think that OBVIOUSLY we just are TOO STOOPID to support THEIR candidate.

And, personally, whether it is Bernie or Hillary or anybody, I do not really care squat about their moms, as far as a reason to support someone who could possibly fuck up my life and my family's life. I DO care if someone has started beating the "hell, yeah, I will put other family's kids' boots on the ground!" drum, though.

fair discussion of issues may be one thing, but unless you are totally blind you know as well as I do that some of these posts are pure attacks. Some of it has been just rotten and you know it. She has been called "Republican," "conservative," "neocon," "war hawk," "war monger," "corporatist," "late to support gay marriage," and on and on and on. It is negative and beyond-reality attacking. It stinks, and Bernie would say it stinks.

But as presidential material, she is somewhat lacking. At least from the standpoint of Democratic party principles.

She supports fracking, the TPP, the Keystone pipeline, the war on drugs, the prison industrial complex, and opposes a fair minimum wage, legalization of marijuana, reinstatement of Glass Stegall.

And she is a self admitted liar. "I came under sniper fire in Bosnia" and "We were dead broke when we left the White House" are just two examples.

We can do better.

Oh yeah I almost forgot. I don't "hate" Ms Clinton. Hell, I don't hate anybody, although Id have to say Dick Cheney comes pretty close. I just don't think she is in any way qualified to be president.
