"SNIP...............................

Former president George W. Bush will not attend the GOP convention next month.

A spokesman for the 43rd president, who has largely stayed out of politics since leaving the White House, said he has declined an invitation to attend.

"President Bush was grateful for the invitation to the Republican National Convention," said Bush communication director Freddy Ford. "He supports Gov. Romney and wants him to succeed. President Bush is confident that Mitt Romney will be a great president. But he's still enjoying his time off the political stage and respectfully declined the invitation to go to Tampa."

George H.W. Bush, the 41st president, will also be missing when Republicans gather at the Tampa Bay Times Forum next month to formally nominate Romney. The elder Bush suffers from vascular Parkinsonism, which affects his mobility.

7. In other words, they have a limit to the number of assklowns that the GOP is allowing to show up

this year.

Wow, Bush really doesn't like Romney much, does he?

Good.

I don't think Romney likes Bush too much either.
He never mentions Bush, did ya notice that?
Like he never existed at all.

8. I don't think it's Bush disliking Romney.

I think it's everyone else, including Romney, realizing that if that schmuck snickers into the mike just once, every American will remember that they are better off now than they were four years ago.

It would be like inviting the asshole who peed in the punch bowl last time to cater the next Christmas party.

Bush, of course, is too narcissistic to know any of that, so they must have bought him off somehow. I'm sure we'll see what the payoff is soon. A new jet, perhaps? Kicking his shitty book up the bestseller list? The one black guy moves out of his formerly whites-only neighborhood?

W's radioactivity is arguably worse than Richard Nixon's, because Bush got away with it all, and there is literally tons of incriminating information that the Obama administration can let slip the day before any speech Bush dares to give. If the Obama campaign can tie Romney to Bush, they'll drop 'em both over the side like a boat anchor, which is why they are never seen together in public already.

What amazes me is that the Republicans were smart enough to get to W before he could throw a public tantrum about it. They haven't really shown a lot of if-then thinking over the past five years, so collectively reaching the cognition level of a house pet is a pretty impressive. Looks like the evils have the upper hand over the stupids again.

11. I'm not sure how GOP convention rules work, but Bill Clinton doesn't need an invitation to ours

Former Presidents and VPs are superdelegates for life.
