1. What weird breakdown!

I regard release of tax returns routine for politicians, especially those aspiring to the presidency, and find the numbers a little bizarre.

2. Not only is every issue open to being Dem-GOP politicized

But everybody KNOWS exactly what to think according to their political "beliefs"/team. Immediately, moreover.

Indeed, this is the current function of the media. The media is not there to inform us; it is only there to help us identify how we should think about an issue given our previous commitments.

4. It's also possible people aren't familiar with this type of thing...

Since it's so routine, we take it for granted most of the time and don't really even pay attention when tax returns are released. So, the fact he hasn't released 'em hasn't quite sunk in yet.

3. Keep hammering Rmoney on tax returns.

It appears that it will hurt him with independents.

How anyone could still be independent at this point is beyond me, but the 11% of indies with no opinion tells me they are not paying close attention. The more this gets covered in the MSM the more of that 11% could add to the 53% of indies who say yes, he should release his tax returns.
