3. It's more likely that he does tithe

(keep in mind that this is also a tax deduction), meaning that he's given the LDS church many millions of dollars over the years. Maybe that's what he doesn't want to become public.

The fundie loons that form a large part of the the GOP base and hold a lot of influence do not like Mormons; they think they're heretics. The fundies are suspicious of Mittens for that reason; they'll vote for him only because they hate Obama more (he's a Muslim Communist Kenyan, and oh, yeah, he's black). But if they started adding up the enormous sums of money the Mormons have been collecting from Mittens they might just decide to stay home rather than help elect a cultist who doesn't love their kind of Jesus.

4. No way will he cheat his own church.

If Romney is not paying much income tax and he should be tithing 10% of his adjusted gross income, technically he is probably not subject to paying all that much to the mormon church.

But I would think, he will pay way over and beyond what he is obligated to pay to the mormon church. He is at the top of the hierarchy and wants to be in good standing with the church because when he passes on he is up for attaining his own planet and being god of his planet.

The money he is saving from income tax shelters and loopholes, etc that he should be paying on planet earth, could very well be going to his church towards his mormon belief, making him more confident that when he leaves this earth, he has earned his right to his very own planet.

his church will be pissed if he gave less than 10%.

The fraud issues and avoidance of taxes by using overseas tax shelters/havens is much more relevant and important.
