Some former presidents have seriously considered running for the senate--Harry Truman did for example.

8. Because if he lost in 2012 then he would still be the best person for 2016.
|
I believe that President Obama WILL win in 2012 So, that just leaves the Supreme Court for him after he leaves the Oval Office - and I do hope that a future Democratic president will appoint him when a seat becomes open |

It would be nice to see him sitting there with his intelligence.
I think that the crap he has endured running for office would discourage anyone from running. It would me. |

14. President Grover Cleveland ran again and won.
|
Stephen Grover Cleveland (March 18, 1837 – June 24, 1908) was the 22nd and 24th President of the United States. Cleveland is the only president to serve two non-consecutive terms (1885–1889 and 1893–1897) and therefore is the only individual to be counted twice in the numbering of the presidents. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grover_Cleveland Quote from his wife: As Frances Cleveland left the White House, she told a staff member, "Now, Jerry, I want you to take good care of all the furniture and ornaments in the house, for I want to find everything just as it is now, when we come back again." When asked when she would return, she responded, "We are coming back four years from today." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grover_Cleveland |

28. I think the reason why Cleveland ran again
|
is that he had won the popular vote in 1888, and he felt he could probably win his native New York as well as the Solid South to give him an electoral victory in 1892.

16. Military-industrial complex
|
Unfortunately, Obama has indeed sold out in many ways.
What disturbs me most of all is that Obama has not only refused to abolish the police state apparatus which built up under George W. Bush but has expanded it further! He has allowed the Military-industrial complex that Dwight Eisenhower warned us about in January 1961 to get even bigger and more powerful. |

But he can run for the House or Senate if he wanted to. Both John Quincy Adams and Andrew Johnson did after their Presidential terms were over.
