(95,337 posts)The only thing that prevent him from putting his name in the hat earlier was his son. But even Beau wanted his dad to run and August seems to be the time frame for when Joe is going to make his move. I see this race as wide open and plenty of room for Joe Bident to get his name in there and make a strong pitch as for why he is the man to continue on with Obama's legacy.

(6,568 posts)and he has some support, but he's said nothing at this point. He may, he may not. But, as I said, I won't go to Tucker Carlson for opinions on the Democratic field.

(7,865 posts)They are more interested in making Hillary barely eke out a victory than anything. The conservatives want Hillary as their opposition but they also want to have her stumble across the primary line after alienating a bunch of people in the party. They do NOT actually want Sanders to jump ahead and now that they have seen his attendence and his very low negatives they are afraid of him. This would explain why they are starting to talk up Biden.

(95,337 posts)Sure he makes some gaffes but the guy his a strong candidate whose worst flaw against him is the plagerism from 1988 which let's face it was a bullshit reason for the guy to drop out of the presidential race back then.
I think Biden has appeal to both sides of the democratic party, he has a pretty clean record personal wide and there isn't much scandal you can did up on the guy other than from time to time he does get foot-in-mouth disease. Biden would have no problem campaigning as Obama's right hand man and I've heard him talk about how and why he voted for the war back in 2002-3 and the struggle he went through and the regrets he has had. I feel comfortable voting for him knowing that he would never lead our country haphazardly into a war.
Is he the perfect candidate like Bernie is? Probably not, but I think he has a wider appeal to bring in the moderate and independant voters that I am not sure we could get with Bernie as the nominee. Don't get me wrong though, if Bernie was the nominee I would campaign just as hard for him as I would for Biden or any other of the democrats.
