like the fading British Empire and it very loss of actual production power. We can still blow up the world ten times over. Our last -est. Also we have the best base for self-sustaining hegemonic, hemispheric than anyone else before Yellowstone or some really heroic pissing away of our riches(in any form you wish to define).

China's GDP is slightly larger now, but "richest" usually is a function of cumulative GDP, and we have a huge head start.

When I say "richest", at least, I'm talking about where the world's wealth is.
