The difference is the cost to the candidate, depending on the spread. Since the spread as reported is slightly greater than .5 percent, the pukes will have to pay all costs. Not that that has ever stopped them. And there are still absentee ballots out there to be counted. The canvass with full absentee report will probably be done Friday, Saturday or Monday. At that point, the pukes can call for a recount if they still desire.

I would say, though, that it will be tough to make up a 600-700 vote deficit in one of our senate districts. They just don't cover enough municipalities (note Waukesha exception) to pull that many votes out of a recount hat.

This would be paid for by the state with less than .5% difference, but paid by the candidate if more.

because the cost would be chump-change for the Koch Bros who have funded Walker's defense of the recall. They won't stop at a partial victory -- they want it all. And they have all the money necessary and the Citizens United decision behind them to spend it on a recount.

I never even lived in Wisconsin, but I cry for them with the outcome of this election. I am in a state of deep remorse. Any little brite light is welcome.

he probably won't be governor much longer. Still the governorship will remain in Repub.
hands. The Lt. Governor will become governor.

Hi all. New guy here. Very first post. I'm 40 and have always been a staunch Democrat and a card carrying Progressive.
What's happened to WI and our nation with Citizens United IS the most horrific piece of legislation I've ever seen in my short life. The 53.2% of Wisconsinites that voted for Walker have to have a screw loose upstairs. After all, we all know that voting for a puke if you make less than 250k a year is a vote against one's own self interest. I'd be willing to place a wager that a minuscule percentage meets that level of income. What say you?
P.S. I'm pleased to have an avenue to express my thoughts and ideas with like minded people. I hope to get know some of you in the very near future.

DU is an incredible online community of Democrats!

I'm CottonBear. I live in the Southeast and I've been a member of DU since 2004. (I lurked for a long time before joining.)

I too am also amazed at how many Americans vote against their own best self interest.

They are out of session till the next election anyway aren't they?

Unless there is a special session, the state senate election is currently meaningless.

Do you doubt for an instant that Walker would have called for a lame duck special session if Republicans don't win a majority in both houses in November? Now, essentially, he can't. Or at least he can't call one that would dependably ram through Republican legislation before the newly elected Senate gets to take their seats.

back the senate in November due to redistricting. I have heard that there is a good chance that two seats will swing back to the R's. And there is no way we take back the assembly. The question is if they do take back the Senate do we try to recall 1 or 2 State Senators to get it back.
