(9,126 posts)But maybe the new talking points will be out soon because this one is done. He did talk about black youth unemployment and you know that codespeak for racism or sexism or something very, very hateful. Don't try to come to any conclusions until you've been told.

(12,041 posts)He has expressed this same idea multiple times, there are a few people on this site who refuse to admit that he speaks out on this issue even after being shown video however.

(17,064 posts)...they were just trying to smear. It didn't work for Hillary in '08, and it won't work now.

(36,063 posts)and at one point turned the focus on creating minority opportunity into a couple of minutes on the need to create a society where no one is discouraged and everyone can be confident in opportunities to achieve success.
I was struck by several things on this topic...
First, his current speech should be putting to rest the notion that he isn't addressing minority issues if his early stump speech actually didn't mention minorities. He did and he acknowledged their long and continuing struggle.
Second, within the context of his speech his comments on minority, women and children's issues were included seamlessly and there was absolutely no indication of lack of authenticity about them being his true sentiments. Certainly it had no feeling of being something hastily or artificially pasted in to address a check list.
Third, just as I have read of his other speeches, he hammered on many family, job, and social issues in general terms that are aimed at supporting poor struggling families. These comments were exceedingly well received among the mixed race crowd was often on it's feet. His comments on the rights of blacks to walk safely on the streets of their communities was clearly an acknowledgement of the failure of society to recognize 'Black Lives Matter', and the ovation of the crowd for those comments seemed to me to be one of the loudest of the evening.
Like all political rallies, the impact of crowd size makes the news...but that crowd also carries the messages and the enthusiasm into places where Sanders' name is largely unknown.
