Radioactive DA defeated in Texas primaries

The Central Texas press is reporting that Williamson County District Attorney John Bradley has been defeated by challenger Jana Duty in the GOP primaries. Stay tuned. During her campaign, Duty (who is the Williamson County Attorney and a shoo-in to win the general election) stated she intends to investigate past mistakes and the conduct of the D.A.'s office beginning on Day One. She appears to be an honest (and remarkably brave) Republican who is going up against a good ol' law and order machine with long, direct ties to Governor Perry. Yes, it's those guys. She deserves some national attention and backing, because they are going to swing back at her with everything they've got.

The best place to get more info is at eyeonwilliamson.org and type "Jana Duty" in the search box.

One of the judges in Williamson county was accused of sexual harassment and retaliation by a couple of county employees. Duty intervened on behalf of the employees and the county commissioners retaliated against her. It's a pretty complex story, so I suggest following the links on that Website to get the story since I don't think I can relay it accurately.

In addition, the State Bar did find that Jana Duty committed professional misconduct. Source: http://eyeonwilliamson.org/?p=10238
