Scott Walker forms a ‘testing the waters’ committee

By Jenna Johnson June 18 at 9:25 AM

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) has formed a "testing the waters" fundraising committee, taking yet another formal step toward officially announcing a run for president.

Walker, along with his eventual campaign, will have full control over money raised by this committee. Walker has said he will not announce his decision on a run for the White House until the state budget is fully completed and signed into law, likely in early July. Republicans close to the governor say he is planning a July 13 announcement in the Milwaukee area.

The formation of this new committee was first reported by the Associated Press.

The committee exploration phase is over. Its the "everybody throw your hats in the ring" phase. He's behind in the game.

But, like Trump, we all know he's going to run, and we all know he has no idea how to do it.

However, around my office, mostly GOP types, Walker gets the most praise for some reason. They really think he's making good things happen in Wisconsin. As far as they are concerned, Walker is already running, they'll be surprised to find out he hasn't actually started.

They are also highly amused by Trump.

Carson they won't give any time to, they all got burned by Herman Cain and they're talking of 'not making that mistake again'

Rand Paul, despite his Randian purity, sort of scares them. They all want to belive in Atlas Shrugged, but now that its possible there could be that guy in the Oval Office, they're gun shy. Go figure.

Cruz was a laughing stock, until Trump ran.

Rubio gets praise, but in a generic way. Nobody can say anything positive and specific about him.

Everybody else just don't rate around here.

So right now, it seems, in my tiny ecosystem of Republicans, Scott Walker is the great white hope.
