LIVE RADIO NOW: Did the midterm election liberate President Obama?

This week’s show

Did the midterm election liberate President Obama?

Democrats took a shellacking in the 2014 midterm elections. They did so even as they ran away from President Obama. It seems like it was a poor move. Why would you buy into a false narrative instead on running on quantifiable accomplishments? Democrats deserved to lose. The President acquiesced to their requests for timid action, Republican lite action and t failed. Americans want a choice, Americans want options, real options. It seems that the President will use his last two years to do just that.

What are your thoughts? Let’s talk. I will also be following our hash-tag #PoliticsDoneRight on Twitter.

I didn't predict the complete turnover of Congress, but I think that liberates him even more.

I think the Dem candidates told/asked him to let them run these races away from him, and he complied. But now, he owes no one anything. He let them see the folly of their ways.

I always thought he would cut loose in the last 2 years of his term - after these last mid-terms of his Presidency. But I think it's even more so now. He is the sole "Democratic" - progressive power in our government. Well, him and Bernie and Al (Franken)!

Maybe because I too was a community organizer in my young adulthood, I "get" how it works. You don't do FOR people, that's not sustainable. You do WITH people - work to motivate and mobilize.

I think he politely stayed out of the way in these mid-terms, and now can legitmately say that voters aren't buying what the Dems have been selling. I really want him to get back to his political and ideological roots. And we see it happening.

Republicans, on the other hand, are acting like friggin' middle schoolers. Jonesing for a fight at every turn, regardless of the senselessness of the position. Just to exert their power. And the terms in which they have been talking about the Pres., like he should just take their whoopin'. FRIES me!

Is there a thread of racism in this? Yes. It's coming to a head and I think President Obama is going to be on the upside!

We do not live in a dictatorship. We have three branches of government which do checks and balances against each other. That is how the Constitution was set up for good or bad. There is very little he can do on his own. Executive orders can't make laws or overrule laws. They can only dictate how the Executive branch is going to apply certain laws.
