Most Americans Think Obama Will Win
Not a done deal by any stretch, but a good sign, I think. Maybe people are recognizing the crazy among us.
http://politicalwire.com/archives/2012/05/17/most_americans_think_obama_will_win.html Most Americans Think Obama Will Win Gallup: "Fifty-six percent of Americans think Barack Obama will win the 2012 presidential election, compared with 36% who think Mitt Romney will win. Democrats are more likely to believe that Obama will win than Republicans are to believe Romney will. Independents are nearly twice as likely to think that Obama, rather than Romney, will prevail."

1. I have this sinking feeling that the money behind Romney will try to steal the election
|
There have been too many things that stand out like the recent magic poll numbers that show the race a dead heat. It just makes me feel uneasy and un-trusting of the system and worried about what they will do to get control of the White House.

5. Voter suppression, unauditable ballots, faux polls, ...
|
... and the courts. It's a recipe for 2000 redux on steroids. There's one thing I can count on from the reich-wing -- anything that "worked" before will be done again. These people are still fighting the Cold War. They're still cheering the embargo of Cuba. (And mourning the defeat of Batista.)
Nothing can be put past them. Nothing. |

because the Democrats rolled over and let them get away with it.

If the Democrats were concerned with election activity they would have done something by now - not wait for the next one to get stolen.

23. The only reason the Repubs were able to steal the election in '00.....
|
was because there was a really tough race between Bush and Gore. Had Gore been able to pull off a few percent more voters, the GOP factions who participated in the theft wouldn't have been able to try without their cover being blown.
If Obama even gets a slightly noticeable lead over Romney, say, 52 to 48, then it's going to be much harder for the crooks to steal the election....and perhaps the worst thing that could happen for the GOP is if Gary Johnson or Ron Paul decides to run for the White House on a third-party ticket(especially Johnson). |

10. That was my thought/worry as well.
|
I don't know if there were polls about it, but I sure expected Gore to win in 2000. It didn't stop me from voting, but I bet a lot of people didn't vote, simply because they thought it was a done deal.

16. I thought that Gore would win too
|
I voted but I didn't really expect that most people would want Bush redux. Of course, technically, Gore WOULD HAVE won if a full recount had been completed instead of being IMHO inappropriately short-circuited by SCOTUS.

17. Well, yeah, of course he DID WIN...
|
but if people hadn't been complacent it would have been a complete route that not even having a brother in charge of a large state could fix.

18. I don't know if people were by and large complacent about Gore
|
I just thought that most people weren't that enthused about Gore, he was tainted by the Lewinsky scandal and didn't take full advantage of Clinton's support as a result (it didn't help that he had a Clinton "scold" like Lieberman on the ticket) and, of course, the media made sure to make Gore look unappealing by making him out to be a pathological liar that he wasn't and making Bush look like somebody fun and appealing. Plus, I think that having 8 years of relative peace and prosperity, as well as good management of the economy might just have been too much for some people to handle- for some reason- and figured Bush could somehow keep it going (or make it even better

I'm LDS and I believe that we deserve a President that is a religious. What we get with MR is a man who can confer with a living prophet. Yes the President of the LDS church is a true prophet who can speak to God. Don't you think we need that in today's world? Blessings!
