Okay, I think we need a dose of optimism (at least I do). So predict how the Democrat wins in your state. Here's my prediction for Martha Coakley in MA.
Martha Coakley will defeat Charlie Baker and be the next governor of MA despite polls generally showing him ahead 2-5 points. First of all, Baker doesn't come off as genuine. His recent efforts to show emotions have not rung true, especially when he was asked in the last debate the last time he cried. He apparently made up a story and, when the media could not substantiate it, tried changing some its details. I don't think he's an exciting candidate and I don't think people trust him all that much. Coakley's personal skills are no worse than Baker's, plus she is smart and accomplished, and will will have the advantage in a state that is clearly Democratic, that is way overdue in electing a woman governor, and that is too smart to fall for someone like Baker who made his name outsourcing jobs. Coakley will win 52%-48%.

(14,308 posts)The day after the election, Greg Abbott, George P Bush and every other Republican on the ballot go to the podium and announce together that they are switching to the Democratic Party creating a Democratic sweep to a surprised electorate.

(5,048 posts)We have a much stronger push from Democrats across the state thanks to OFA. There is even a glimmer of hope more Democrats will hold office after Tuesday. I hope the state Democratic Party will continue to grow and build on the excellent efforts of this year.

(6 posts)I predict Mary Burke will take Wisconsin. But not by much!
The key is turnout. And the simple fact is, there are more Dems in Wisc. than Republicans. I don't care what the outside pundits say. They don't live here.
Burke is a moderate Dem and that should help her here. We like people in the middle of the road or a little on the liberal side. Bill Clinton, Michelle and Barack Obama have all been to Milwaukee to fire up folks to turn out and vote for Mary.
Here's more evidence: Today the conservative Wisconsin State Journal in Madison has endorsed Burke. That's big.

(19,348 posts)He had to deal with a massive budget deficit and pensions which were underfunded due to the Rowland/Rell genius of putting off the hard choices. Had either of those two dealt with the problems of pensions, they too would have struggled to win re-election.
Dan Malloy passed a universal background check system for firearm purchases too.
Tom Foley does not have his heart in this race. He is a Romney clone who sees elected office as another feather in his cap.
The candidates running on the GOP side for the state row offices (AG/Sec Of State/Treasurer/Comptroller) are hardliners who all far to the right of the state. Tim Herbst (First Selectman of Trumbull, running for Treasurer) is a Christie clone. He is the worst thing that could happen to this state. He would use the office in order to achieve high office in the future.

Sec of State Kate Brown, Democrat, says turnout is on track for 70%. We vote by mail so election day is just the end of and not the entire process.

(4,510 posts)expanded the number of registered black voters. She's going to pull more white women and a poll I saw a while ago showed her leading among white men. I think the votes already cast favors Nunn. If she does well she might just pull Carter over the line as well.
