Will Mitt Make It To The Repug National Convention(RNC)?......

Bullying a gay guy. Walking a sight-impaired teacher into a door. Trying to take credit for GM. etc, etc, etc.

I'm wondering if Mitt will make it to the RNC?

Will he be shown to look so bad as a presumptive nominee by the time of the convention that the Repugs might abandon him for someone that might even have a chance at beating Obama?

Seems like everyday - something comes out on Mitt. Whether it be these stories of his youthful indiscretions. His continuous lying. His trying to change his past to make him over. I'm wondering if by the time of the nominating convention that he'll look so bad that the Repugs might have to find a substitute.

It was always going to be Willard.

Why? Because the GOP is about the 1%.

Bashing gays and everyone else is a means to that end.

So I think they've chosen the perfect representation of who they are.

And this is why he will be their nominee.

And the republican base seems pretty despondent and deflated.
I think he'll make it to the convention but the fanfare will be phony.

He's been severely damaged this week, and the repercussions may echo past his nominating convention. But he's going to gain support along the way, likely from the Republican and the party-not-named core. But with this week's revelations he may have real problems getting independent as, especially, moderate support.

This bullying business, including his political position on gay bullying in MA as governor are really important issues for many moderates. They show a person you may not want to be President. This week may stick in their craw, in spite of the six months til Nov.

Who knows. One thing we can be sure of. Obama and company played their cards flawlessly, a classic Rope-A-Dope.

Mittens is the best they have. He got as far as he did by being the least batshit candidate. Nobody else in their party is more electable than he is.

that would have ended the career of a democrat.

As others have noted, the Rs have a deep affection for people who say and do whatever they want and continue to forge ahead despite how wrong they were. All his backflipping and etch sketching won't bother them at all. It just serves to fuel their righteous indignation.

the media has LONG morphed to a point with Romney where there is almost a "just Mitt being Mitt' thing when he says or does something incredibly bad. It has reached a point where he could run over a pack of boy scouts in a hummer with a bottle of christal at mouth, they would admonish him for one news cycle then go back to the business of finding some inane nonsense to negatively frame President Obama.

He is their guy, and they and the "liberal media" are going to spend the next five months doing whatever it is they have to do to keep him within one big event of swinging the election his way at the last moment.
