Clinton Praises Obama on Bin Laden to Highlight Her Role

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton hints that she will highlight her role in the 2011 raid that killed Osama bin Laden if she runs for president.

In an excerpt released today from her forthcoming memoir, “Hard Choices,” Clinton writes of President Barack Obama’s decision to strike despite misgivings within his inner circle.

“The president’s top advisors were divided. The intelligence was compelling, but far from definitive,” Clinton writes in an author’s note from publisher Simon & Schuster. “It was as crisp and courageous a display of leadership as I’ve ever seen.”

Clinton doesn’t explicitly identify herself as a supporter of the raid or mention Vice President Joe Biden, a possible rival for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination, as a leading skeptic. That split could be important in a Democratic primary election contest.

- and there were people suggesting it at least from 1993!

It is astonishing that anyone is surprised. It is also surprising that any one would question taking SOME credit for good things that happen that you are part of. The ONLY time I would ever have a problem is if someone took credit for more than most thought was their share. Here it really does not sound like that.

There will be a tendency to emphasize things that worked -- and distance from things that didn't. Only if the stories are at variance from the CW accounts should they be an issue.

If she goes down that ridiculous road again... oiy.

The info in the OP is not anything like that tho. But it's going to be really hard for her to live down all the catastrophic comments she made in desperation back then.

Bush said he wasn't concerned and that needs to be highlighted and aired nightly on TV.

Bush was an inept president who did nothing.

No thank you. I won't be able to look myself in the mirror if I pretend there isn't something deeply wrong with this.

I think that entire family is evil. I think he feigned being unconcerned and certainly knew the attacks were coming. I believed he wanted them to happen and I'm upset Bill and Hillary Clinton act like Bush lackeys.
