Sheriff urged to clamp down on armed militiamen around Bundy ranch

Hat tip, Gawker: Nevada Militia Sets Up Armed Checkpoints, Demands to See Drivers' I.D.

Belatedly, I found this (yes, I do search before posting): Concerns growing about militia members at Bundy ranch

Sheriff urged to clamp down on armed militiamen around Bundy ranch

By Kyle Roerink
Monday, April 28, 2014 | 4:16 p.m.

A growing number of Bunkerville residents want to see the armed militiamen guarding rancher Cliven Bundy leave Nevada, according to a letter from Rep. Steven Horsford, D-Nev., to Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie.

Horsford, whose congressional district includes Bunkerville, wrote that his constituents are concerned about Bundy supporters carrying weapons near local churches, schools and elsewhere.
....

The letter also says militiamen have a presence on state and local roads as well as federal highways. In some areas, according to the letter, militiamen have set up checkpoints where drivers are stopped and asked to provide a proof of residency.
....

Bundy owes the BLM $1 million in grazing fees. Earlier this month, the agency called off a roundup of Bundy’s cattle after escalating tensions between federal agents and militia members.

STEVE MARCUS

Reid Hendricks of Camden, Tenn., and Jim (no last name provided) of Las Vegas take up a position on a hill by Cliven Bundy’s ranch near Bunkerville on Tuesday, April 15, 2014. Hendricks is a former Marine (honorably discharged) and has worked as a police officer and a high school history teacher, he said.

Hat tip to one of the commenters for this: THE CONSTITUTION OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, Article 1, Section 2

But the Paramount Allegiance of every citizen is due to the Federal Government in the exercise of all its Constitutional powers as the same have been or may be defined by the Supreme Court of the United States; and no power exists in the people of this or any other State of the Federal Union to dissolve their connection therewith or perform any act tending to impair[,] subvert, or resist the Supreme Authority of the government of the United States. The Constitution of the United States confers full power on the Federal Government to maintain and Perpetuate its existance [existence], and whensoever any portion of the States, or people thereof attempt to secede from the Federal Union, or forcibly resist the Execution of its laws, the Federal Government may, by warrant of the Constitution, employ armed force in compelling obedience to its Authority.

child support, check to see if they are on disability. This guy Hendricks said he worked as -----, what does he do now. It should be easy to check to see if there are arrest warrants on individual militia. If on disability how are they taking part in the Bundy blunder. Get the cameras off of them, let them camp out and get over themselves.

The hop from job to job, take odd jobs. Would not be surprised to learn some of them are involved in drug or other illegal activity.

Can't imagine their employers would take kindly to the idea of them skiving off work to go "protect" some deadbeat tax cheat racist in Nevada from the horror and agony of *gasp* paying his taxes.

About the only gun restriction Nevada has is concealed carry, and I have it on good authority a militiaman would be tossed out on his ear if he didn't openly brandish his weapon.
