If Republicans Win the Senate, What Crisis Will Mitch McConnell Cook Up Next?

The most recent forecast by Fivethirtyeight gives Republicans a sixty percent chance of winning a majority of the Senate in November’s elections. Given that any bill already has to pass the Republican-controlled House, the effect of a Republican Senate upon President Obama’s legislative agenda can be calculated at zero, with a margin of error of zero. You can’t kill something that is already dead.

On the other hand, what is currently alive, albeit barely, is a fragile peace that has enabled the functioning of the traditional separation-of-powers relationship between the branches of government. The survival of that peace depends entirely on a Democratic Senate. Almost nobody seems to be thinking about the potential chaos that could lie ahead.

I think chaos is an understatement. There is no guarantee that McConnell will survive his own reelection bid given his strong opponent. Winning that seat is perhaps the best chance we have of taking him out AND preventing a take over of the Senate

They seem to love them whenever a Democrat is in the WH, never mind that it's always been a losing idea for them (not to mention the public) but, hey, if they want to help us increase our margin of victory in the House, Senate, and WH in 2016.............

It may end up being his seat that decides whether we keep the Senate. Wouldn't it suck if they ended up with 49 seats and the D's with 51 and Grimes knocks him out.

They own or invest in a lot of those 'for profit' industries-like our health insurance companies the USA is stuck with.

The more 'free Gov. money' the higher the private profits!

Heck, I even have 10 shares of that private prison stock (just playing the stock game) and made 67% !!!! off those stocks in 2 years
