Backdrops at speeches -

It's distracting to have a group of people staring at the speaker's head ( or almost fainting!)

It's rather crass to have a backdrop that advertises the site or sponsoring organization - I don't know who had the first one, but now they are ubiquitous. I'm referring to the ones that have the name and/or logo of the sponsor(s) arranged like a repeating wall paper pattern.

I'd rather see nothing but a curtain or wall.

So that the news networks can fill in whatever cheery or ominous background they want.

.... if you've never noticed before, go back & look at some of his speeches- the dais almost always has an extension or plants or some kind of addition on each side so you can't see below his knees(ish).

Can't imagine there's a sharpshooter curled around his feet ... is he a fidgeter? Does he have smelly feet?

Just thought it odd.

I think that most speaker's podiums have such coverage.
