According to the most recent 270towin map....
Obama only needs 43 electoral votes to guarantee reelection (that isnt even counting Penn's 20 votes. Penn hasnt voted Repub since 1988). 270towin says he has 227 electoral votes locked.
Romney needs 79 to win it. He has 191 guaranteed. There are 42 winning combinations for Obama. There are 31 winning combinations for Romney. There are 5 ways they can tie. http://www.270towin.com/ Yeah its still early, but I like them odds.

1. It's gonna be ugly

Romney's already using the Big Lie approach. How do you prep to debate the guy? You have absolutely no idea going in what position he's going to take on anything. "Rope-a-Dope" was a one-fight gimmick. I can't stand it when people see that as some sort of crowning achievement of Muhammed Ali's career. It's a stunt he could only pull off once, obviously, because if that's all you got, your going to be treated like a speed bag by a guy whose been pounding sand for two years. We're going to win, but there's going to be a lot of ugly between now and then. |

No fire in the belly, you can see it, you can feel it, you can smell it.
And I'm pretty sure O has been doing Rope-a-Dope these last 3 years or so. We will see. |

5. If he also wins PA, VA, NV, and NH, that would give him 270 w/o FL and OH! n/t

14. He will win Ohio or Florida and probably both.
|
New Mexico and Pennsylvania are pretty much in the bag, I think.
VA, NC, NH, IA, and CO are all quite winnable as well. If the economy continues to recover and gas prices stay below $4 I think he wins all of these states and possibly several more (AZ, MO, IN) and cruises to reelection. |

8. Looks too damn close for me...
|
...I give PA to Obama, but concerned about CO,IA,OH,VA,NC and FL.
A few of them go, it's over, our corporate masters will control all levers of power. Shutter. |

9. Out of all the states you listed,

Last edited Mon Apr 30, 2012, 12:32 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1) all Obama needs is VA (as well as PA, NV, and NH) to get 270.

10. My point is, this should not be close....
|
...the people should get it, and realize as Bush was a corporation in a suit, Romney IS literally a corporation.
This election should NOT be close, it should be over now, so we can get things done. |

11. Being that he'll probably win most of the states you listed,
|
it WON'T be close. The election can't be sooner than Nov. 6th, as you know. My prediction is that once the debates take place, Romney will tank in the polls.

13. CO shouldn't be close which means Romney HAS TO win ALL of the others that you listed.
|
And he's behind (minus Rasmussen) in all of them.
President Obama should win easily IF the economy continues to grow. |

15. The latest non-Rasmussen Colorado poll is a tie

I believe Obama will pull ahead at the end though. Plus he does not need Colorado to win. |
