Boehner: Romney’s Wealth Won’t Hurt Him Because ‘The American People Don’t Want To Vote For A Loser’http://thinkprogress.org/special/2012/04/29/473280/boehner-romneys-wealth-wont-hurt-him-because-the-american-people-dont-want-to-vote-for-a-loser/ Boehner: Romney’s Wealth Won’t Hurt Him Because ‘The American People Don’t Want To Vote For A Loser’ By Travis Waldron on Apr 29, 2012 at 11:30 am Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney has struggled to connect with average voters throughout his campaign, but that won’t hurt him in the general election, House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) said Sunday. Asked by CNN’s Candy Crowley whether Romney’s wealth presented him with a “hill to climb” in tough economic times, Boehner said it wouldn’t because “the American people don’t want to vote for a loser”: CROWLEY: You know, he comes from a privileged background. You did not come from a privileged background. This is a time — an economic time when people are hurting and have been hurting for quite some time.
Do you think that someone who is as wealthy as he is, who has had as much privilege as he is, has a hill to climb to overcome that? BOEHNER: No. The American people don’t want to vote for a loser. They don’t want to vote for someone that hasn’t been successful. I think Mitt Romney has an opportunity to show the American people that they, too, can succeed. Video @ link~ Romney has consistently reminded voters of his wealth, noting that he is friends with the owners of NASCAR and pro football teams, that his wife has “a couple of Cadillacs,” or that he doesn’t consider $374,000 in speaking fees to be “very much.” That top Republicans consider Americans who don’t enjoy those luxuries losers or unsuccessful, however, may be why its nominee has had such a tough time gaining favor with average voters throughout the 2012 election.

2. Let's see now

Boehner said "‘The American People Don’t Want To Vote For A Loser’ , funny things is the americans in his state voted for him, and his sure as hell is a "loser"!
As for Romney, the more he brings up his wealth the less people are going to like him. He is nothing more than a spoiled rich kid who got through college by "cashing in his stocks" so he and his wife didn't have to work, then he made his fortune buying companies, firing people, dumping the retirement plans for those companies on the government, and sent jobs offshore when they closed down the entire plants! Yep, the american people just love those kind of "regular" guys! Do republicans really think people are that stupid? |

3. Political discourse from Boenher now sounds like the 7th grade lunch room.
|
I can almost see him holding an "L" formed by his fingers to his forhead and saying in a taunting voice: "Loser"!
Sick thing is how many americans he is taunting with this phrase. Sad, sick and ironic thing is how many americans who now struggle, were put into shaky grounds by Bain Capitals vulture capitalism. *shudder* |

5. Far more get it, than would have a decade ago.

Their assaults and insults are coming so fast and furious, that I expect that the trend will continue. The sad thing is how LONG that takes to happen and how much damage has been inflicted upon us, that will just keep escalating until perhaps it is far too late to turn back the damage.

8. His wealth won't hurt him. How he lied and cheated

to make the money will. I've had Reapubligan women tell me he is a sociopath. I think there is going to be a lot of vote canceling in Reapubligan households in November.

because some day "they" will be wealthy too and need that extra cash.
You know, the ones who lined up to vote for McGrumpy and the Grifter. Its like Joe the Plumber is writing Boehner's lines for him... |
