On edit: I intend to only work for real Democrats in 14.

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by zappaman (a host of the Politics 2014 forum).

I have worked on many a campaign over the last many decades, and am quite involved locally with the party. I intend to work only with real progressives, no faux Democrats for me.

1. Good that you will work to elect progressives, however...

...this OP's intent is to resurrect a locked thread. Against the rules, man...

2. That's ok. I decided the other day after 10 years here, I am done. I have real work to do

instead of hanging out on an internet board with armchair warriors. Besides, it appears our party is also splitting into two. I had hope we would come together, but everyone's so touchy here it's ridiculous. But, thanks for the admonition.

3. Is this the precursor for a GBCW post?

Yes, many here, including myself, are disappointed in President Obama. But calling for his impeachment is against the rules on a Democratic message board. And, it's stupid, quite frankly.

5. I am *that fed up, and I believe that *they have the right to know it and to see it in print

even if it's just on a stupid message board. Only by seeing it in front of their faces might they slow down and think. Yes, it's about my future income, which they are once again talking about stealing.

8. I don't always see Democrats on this site, lots of libertarians and GOP trollers, you can't count

these in determining the party is splitting. We sure do not need to be taken over by the likes of the TP either, it has ruined the GOP.

10. I think you're letting your paranoia get the best of you...

I am a lifelong Dem (made my bones at the age of 7 stuffing envelopes for the McGovern campaign, and repeated my efforts for Governor Jimmy Carter in 1976 and for President Carter in 1980) and I am DEEPLY offended by the lack of action on the part of President Obama (whom I've voted for 2x) to stop this attack on CIVIL LIBERTIES. For the record:

-at age 19, I voted for Fritz Mondale.

-at age 23, I voted for Michael Dukakis.

-at age 27, I voted for Bill Clinton.

-at age 31, I voted for the Big Dawg again.

-at age 35, I voted for Albert Gore, only to watch my vote trumped by a partisan and corrupt SCOTUS.

-at age 39, I voted for John Kerry, only to watch my vote trumped by a partisan and corrupt Ohio AG.

-at age 43, I voted for Barack Obama, with fucking TEARS in my eyes as I pulled the lever, hoping he would restore the USA that I grew up in.

-at age 47, I voted for him again, still hopeful he would restore the USA that I grew up in.

He has NOT restored the USA I believed in. He doubled-down.

12. I am not paranoid, just pointing we have trolls here, trying to change a lifelong Democrat is very

hard to do. I don't want to change but I am glad the TP passed up the Democrat. I don't think we are desperate enough to want to totally ruin our party.
