We should bring up Seamus so much that people think he's Romney's running mate.

Lee Atwater, when managing Bush Sr.'s campaign against Michael Dukakis, said regarding Dukakis that he would "strip the bark off the little bastard" and "make Willie Horton his running mate".

We should be doing the same thing with Romney, regarding his dog Seamus.

It's a story almost any American can understand - abusive treatment of one's dog. It says a lot about Mitt as a person and cements the image of him being a clueless, disconnected asshole.

Polls show voters of all political affiliations say the Seamus story makes them less likely to vote for Romney. It's not exactly controversial and there's zero chance of the Romneys spinning the story to gain sympathy for him. In fact, they've already tried to do so numerous times, and they keep making it worse - like his sons admitting that Seamus ran away after the trip, or his sister mentioning that Seamus ran away from home quite often.

For better or worse, the "likeability" factor is huge in politics, and nothing seals Romney's fate as unlikeable more than the revelation that he abused his own dog.

And unlike Atwater, we don't need to lie, exaggerate, or smear Romney with this story at all. The truth is already about as damaging as it could possibly be.

and drive around with a sign saying Dog on Roof for Obama.

I think it would be delightful if the DNC might make up some kind of kit to attach to your roof - i.e. a roof sticker, not a bumper sticker.

Imagine thousands of cars with paper mache or stuffed animal dogs on the roof riding around, stopped at traffic lights etc.

Join me.

Imagine!!!

like pizza delivery companies use and put a dog picture on it.

In fact here's a link. Not nearly as expensive as I thought it would be.

You know, there IS something to be said about choosing to have your dog shat on your car roof rather than amongst the inside cargo.

I am not sure what that should be, but I suspect it would sound something like "Too cheap to take the dog to a vet!"

It absolutely should be laminated to that smug bastard. Consider, voters of America: this is how he treats the REALLY "least of these" - as in animals being out-ranked by humans, and in romney's case, out-ranked also by STUFF. Things. Suitcases. Supplies. Inanimate objects. STUFF.

If he treats animals that way, especially the supposedly-beloved family dog, imagine how he'll treat others he considers among the out-ranked. YES it goes to character. YES it goes to morals. YES it even goes to more objective ethics. YES you better believe it goes to likeability!!!!

And I say we work it til people start getting Seamus tattoos. We work it til team romney starts choking and gagging and, yes, shitting down the sides of their own cars because of it.

the republicans found something about Obama visiting his relatives in Indonesia when he was 23 and say he ate dog there. I say BS because it is another culture and that is different, Seamus was abused here in America.

He lived in Indonesia for a few years as a child. His later trip of which you speak was to Africa.

In any case, I agree, we shouldn't let the world forget about Seamus.
