1. Oh God!! can't the democrats come up with better candidates

Another loser to a dead in the water rethug Governor It's hard enough for a woman to run for Governor as it is and then for the democrats to pick first in NJ a female candidates that doesn't have a snowball chance in hell and now they have done it again in PA that Governor in PA is the second worst Governor behind Cesick this should be an easy pickup.I was hoping the Attorney General would run she would be a formable candidate

8. I don't know

First, women are absolutely on the rise in politics today.

The new AG is a democratic women who had no profile at all.

Corbett is VERY beatable.

I think the biggest concern is the democratic candidate.

The biggest threat is someone who has a big target on them, who is objectionable to the republicans who are angry at Corbett over PSU (maybe they vote for the D, but worst case is you want them to NOT vote).

She has the resume, is not someone who will chase republicans back to Corbett and also has a power base/name in the Philly area, where the Ds need to max out the vote.

First blush for me with her is favorable.

9. Corbett is owned by the fracking industry. Everything he's done has been a disaster.

Now he wants to privatize the turnpike (out of state company), liquor stores, and lottery (sending a huge chunk of the revenue to a foreign company). He's a disgrace.

3. Excuse me,

I've never posted in this forum before.

Could you explain to this Central Pennsylvanian exactly what your objection to her is?

This article says there's a "recent poll her team touts.Commissioned by the Democratic Governors Association, the poll suggests that Schwartz is positioned to win: She leads the governor 50-42 statewide; 81-12 in Philly; 53-42 in Philly's burbs and Pittsburgh, and 51-38 among women."

But I know very little about her. Is there some other problem? And wouldn't she have to win a primary first?

12. All I can think of is maybe she's too Philly area for the state

I'm not sure about the Philadelphia area in general fielding successful governor candidates, but Philadelphia itself has a very poor record for fielding successful governor candidates. I think I read somewhere once that only 2 Philadelphia mayors have been elected governor in the states long history.

I'm pretty neutral on Schwartz, I honestly don't really know who I'd consider a good candidate, other then Kane who obviously won't run since she only just got elected attorney general.

7. Where are you getting Carmona?

I'd be happy to support him, but I haven't heard a peep that he's thinking about the race.

11. Pingree and Michaud won't run in Maine. The moderate Indy Elliot Cutler will probably take it.
