Question? Does anyone know what happened to MSNBC's Steve Schmidt?

Steve Schmidt was the GOP head guy for the McCain/Palin ticket in 2008. He was featured prominently in the HBO movie "Game Change."

He was on MSNBC quite frequently as an analyst, including playing an important role in their election night coverage.

But I haven't seen him on air in months. Is he still with the network? Did he take leave?

1. The last time I remember him being on MSNBC, he was being congratulated

on the birth of a new baby so perhaps he's staying home to enjoy daddy-duty!

3. I guess that could be a possibility

I'm surprises I haven't heard anyone mention maternity time on air. Even with this, he has been gone a long time.

4. I sort of had the feeling he was aware that the Repukes were in 'outer space' during the campaign...

and he was listed as a Republican strategist on MSNBC. He probably found himself having to defend so many wackos that it became an embarassment, so better to leave that behind.

9. Thanks guys!

I generally only get to watch during primetime. He has been missing there. I guess he has been regulated to daytime duty.

Wow... you guys are better than doing a google search!

10. No problemo!

Well, since I have MSNBC on all day and night long, I'm always ready to answer anything MSNBC-related.

7. He was just on MSNBC calling CPAC "the Star Wars bar scene."

“Look, this CPAC convention is increasingly the Star Wars bar scene of the conservative movement. I mean all that’s missing at that convention is a couple of Wookiees,” Schmidt said on MSNBC on Tuesday...

12. Time for some activists to show up on Wookie suits

Who among the attendees will fight to maintain the right to bear crossbow lasers? Big, hairy enquiring minds want to know!

11. Add to that, his "expertise" in on electoral politics...

...they might be waiting until some of the campaigns firm up.
