Gawker Writer Creates Faux ‘Friends Of Hamas’ Site In Dig At Breitbart Reporter

DAVID TAINTOR 9:55 AM EST, WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 20, 2013

As part of the ongoing fallout over "Friends of Hamas," Gawker writer Max Read has created a website for the group, which almost certainly does not exist. The site is a dig at Breitbart News reporter Ben Shapiro, who wrote an article on the group, purporting that the shadowy organization might have given money to defense secretary nominee Chuck Hagel.

Read announced the new site on Twitter Wednesday morning:

thinks they're just like "the Salvation Army with guns".
