If Spitzer(D-NY) had not resigned from the Governorship in 2008.

Cuomo would still be NY AG.
Spitzer-D would win re-election as Governor in 2010,
Spitzer-D would retire in 2014, Cuomo-D would be front runner to succeed him in 2014,win re-election in 2018.
2016- Spitzer runs POTUS if Hillary,Biden does not run.
2024- Cuomo becomes the standard bearer.

2. Yeah if only Spitzer had been a competent Governor

and hadn't had his little prostitute problem. But, then if Benedict Arnold had died at Saratoga he would have been a great American hero. But neither scenario occurred and both are major losers!

9. The Prostitute Problem prevented him from being appointed to a Cabinet position perhaps the one

Warren created.

4. He would not have resigned if he had not had a prostitute/hypocrisy problem. This thread

qualifies for one of the dumbest threads I have seen in a while.

7. Prostitute problem or No Prostitute Problem

Spitzer-D would have won re-election in 2010 against Pallidano-R.

8. Not the way he was going....

even with out the prostitution crap he was on the road to a single term. Even if he had done a mea culpa tour every week, which would have been needed!

10. Not at all likely. Had Spitzer stayed on there is no way in hell he

would have won in 2010. You do realize he was prosecuting prostitution and he got caught taking a prostitute across state lines which is a felony? He was toast. Even crazy Palladino would have beaten Spitzer.

Why don't we change the conversation to Martin O'Malley who won in 2006 and 2010, and now is perfectly positioned to do exactly what you are suggesting Spitzer could have done.

O'Malley 2016! The Progressive Candidate in 2016!

11. O'Malley-MD is the only blue state Governor in the Northeast that did not self destruct.

2006- Spitzer-NY,Patrick-MA,and O'Malley-MD won.
O'Malley-MD won a re-match against Ehrlich-R.
Patrick-MA won a 3 way race against Baker-R and Cahill-I.

6. But that didn't happen.

It's nice to dream. I live in reality.
