FOX News hires Scott Brown as a contributor, will debut on Sean Hannity tonight

2/13/13 1:40 PM EST

It's official: Fox News has hired former Republican Sen. Scott Brown as a contributor.

Brown, who will be a contributor across the network's programming, debuts tonight on Sean Hannity's program. As previously reported by POLITICO, the former Senator had been in talks with the network since announcing that he would not run for the Massachusetts seat vacated by John Kerry.

“Senator Brown’s dedication to out-of-the box thinking on key issues makes him an important voice in the country and we are looking forward to his contributions across all Fox News platforms," Bill Shine, the network's executive vice president of programming, said in a statement.

“I am looking forward to commenting on the issues of the day and challenging our elected officials to put our country's needs first instead of their own partisan interests," Brown said.

3. Interesting

Should be interesting in watching Brown trying to twist himself into a pretzel since his positions are all over the board. If he strays too far right to the nutty TeaBagger side then he will never have any chance of winning an elected office in Massachusetts

4. Revolving door

This is like the unemployment insurance for republicans. They lose their job and go on fox to "stay relevant" then they move on from there. It's like a halfway home.
