" NO OBAMA tears for the aborted unborn"
The title above was a letter sent by a retired priest in the state of CT dated 1/28/2013:
"Jan. 22 marked 40 years of legalized abortion. Jan 21 our liberal president was blessed with a second term in office. His words to America have violated the founding principles upon which our great nation was established. The president shed tears at the Newtown tragedy, but his legacy the day after his inauguration is tarnished by his stand on abortion, late-term abortion. He cried over the death of 20 innocent children in Newtown but he takes no responsibility for the daily carnage that takes place in America's abortion clinics. Obama's legacy is being tainted by the 55 million unborn children who have been sacrificed at the altar of human and political expediency. The president cried over 20 children who died in Newtown but he is oblivious to the 26,813 abortions that take place every week in America. The president claims to be a champion of the disadvantaged in America. He should ask himself who speaks for the millions of unborn children who have no voice. I pray God will open his heart to understand the true meaning of love." A reply by a reader suggested incredible and ludicrous immediately come to mind. And suggested that the anti-abortion folks support all birth control measures. I, for one, would like to know if where this retired priest stands on gun control and if this retired priest ever wrote such articles to the paper regarding abortions when President Reagan, Bush, and Bush were in office.

get born due to 'natural' occurrences.

16. You know why
|
To someone really far to the right, like this priest is, "liberal" means "more liberal than me."
The problem with that theory, of course, is EVERYONE is more liberal than those guys. |

7. Why can't people grieve both?
|
I can see late term abortion in the cases of life endangerment, but not over disabilities, which is what most of them are about.
Liberals are supposed to take up for the underdog. The unborn is the underdog. Women have access to birth control. If they use it consistently, they won't get pregnant. The AGI said they don't use it consistantly for different reasons (money, afraid of side affects, etc). I think they should think about the side affects of having a baby. We have all this access and healthcare that we didn't before. We don't need abortion anymore, not in this country. |

9. No, women are the underdog.

Last edited Tue Feb 5, 2013, 02:05 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1) When abortion is banned or restricted in the ways you suggest, the result is that women die. So-called pro-lifers are OK with that, though, since to them, the life of the (potentially male) fetus is much more important than the life of a living, breathing, thinking woman.
No form of birth control is 100% efficient. Birth control fails all the time. Take a look at this: http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/effectiveness-rate-of-birth-control-methods |

10. The "unborn" are not the underdog.
|
For Christ's sake.
"If they use it consistently, they won't get pregnant." Complete lie. Birth control fails all the time, sparky. "We don't need abortion anymore, not in this country." Ever hear of rape, jackass? Mind your own fucking business. What a woman chooses to do with her body is NONE of your fucking business. |

11. Have they adopted any disabled babies? Or any unwanted babies?
|
Do they give a damn about the unwanted kids who are already here? Will they adopt a microcephalic or spina bifida or otherwise severely compromised babies? Tay-Sachs???? Trisomy of 21 and other cases of other-than-46 normal chromosomes?
Do they know about ectopic pregnancies? Take the fallopian tube out or the woman dies when it ruptures? There will ALWAYS be a need for surgical abortions. Huh??? ....crickets.......... |
