So George Will reports that

Obama's favorability rating (51%) is presently lower than the NRA's (54%),

What do we make of this?

12. I used to like that group, EarthWindFire, so in the spirit:

You've been here 13 days and you've been stirring the shit about gun control for what, 13 of those days? Soon, people will return to the gungeon and shit stirring won't be looked at kindly. You want to get the kind of numbers that earn you respect around here, stop being a one note banjo and maybe find a topic or two you can find a democratic angle on. Otherwise, I fear you will not make it to 100, 700 or even the vaunted and esteemed 1000 posts. Our tolerance for gun stirrers is only higher right now because of the senseless tragedy at Newtown and you guys are only allowed out of the dungeon so that we can soundly bat you about the ears.

3. That George Will is pulling things out of his ass?

Or, just that he is an ass. Both work.

9. I think it's wrong.

On January 16, the NRA favorablity rating was 42%.

The PPP poll shows a big shift from before CEO Wayne LaPierre's press conference, which cast blame on the media, and violent video games and movies for the elementary-school massacre in Newtown, Conn., last month. Before the press conference, 48 percent of Americans viewed the organization in a positive light, compared with 41 percent who viewed it unfavorably.

After the press conference and a subsequent appearance on "Meet the Press," the NRA's favorability shifted to a 42-45 negative split a 10-point swing in three weeks.

Obama favorability right now is 60%.

Sixty percent of American adults said they have a favorable opinion of Obama, according to the survey, representing the highest mark for the President in ABC/WaPo's polling since November of 2009.

10. And there's this.

http://tv.msnbc.com/2013/01/30/poll-obamas-favorability-hits-new-high/

So - either Will's polling was time-sensitive and out of date, or he was fibbin'!

Never thought much of his intellect, either.

13. I make that after what he predicted about the election

George Will has zero credibility when it comes to understanding polls.
