http://www.clarionledger.com/article/20130125/NEWS010504/301250044/States-rights-pushed-bill-would-assert-sovereignty-state-?gcheck=1
Short version: these zeebs want to pick and choose which laws to obey, by claiming "state sovereignty" to ignore any laws they don't like.

I have news for you, Mississippi. You can't have it both ways. Either you're part of the United States, or you're not.

8. Yes, everyone would be better off, except, oh, me and all of the progressives down here.
|
Yeah, everyone would be better off, except for me, my family, and all my progressive friends here fighting to make this state a better place, even as Gov. Phil Bryant and the Republicans in control piss all over us, joined by our supposedly progressive "friends" up North who also like to piss on all our efforts.
Seriously, we defeated by the Personhood Amendment overwhelmingly because we had progressives down here fighting who KNEW we could even as all of you stood perched on your pedestals and just assumed we stupid Mississippians would automatically vote for Personhood. But because WE fought we WON despite all your condescension. We are also one of the few states in 2012 that voted MORE Democratic and we had shifts towards blue throughout the state. 43% of us voted FOR President Obama. We are fighting like hell to bring this state into the 21st century. It'd be nice if our east coast liberal friends would help us instead of always standing in judgment and brushing us off as a lost cause. Hell yes, we have a lot of poverty in this state. Why do you think we have so much ignorance and fear and paranoia? Because people in poverty are easy to control. How about you liberals actual come in and give the poor here something to believe in instead of letting the people keeping them down have default control over everything? HELP US, stop hindering. And if you won't help us, keep your mouths shut. |

10. Mississippi couldn't succeed on its own.
|
It's one of the poorest states in the country and would be a poor nation. After years of isolation, it'd rival Mexico more than the U.S. because, let's be honest, outside the Gulf, who really says, "Hey, let's go to Mississippi!"

I totally, absolutely, and without question want them to take their sorry-assed state out of America. We have enough pollution as it is.
