Just got home and missed most of the festivities...

so I take it this inauguration has been very low key and very few people showed up, as I'd been told would happen. Right? Right??

I kid! Watching VP Biden and President Obama and wives cruising down the parade route, waving to the crowds, and there are crowds!

LOVELY! And they are loved!

1. The inquisition was new

The benediction called for death to all unbelievers, and people in the crowd were required to pray at gunpoint.

2. Lookie here...

Here's a post someone put up earlier that will give you some perspective on the size of the crowd...

I recommend watching the events on C-Span, there's no bias or talking heads to annoy you while you revel in the victory.

4. As I headed home, hordes of people dressed to the 9's for the inaugural balls.

If there were fewer people, it was because the price tag for these balls were absolutely appalling. I attended four balls last time. The most I paid for them was $100. The other three were $50 or $60. This year, tickets for the Maryland ball, for instance, was $250. So it wouldn't surprise me if attendance was lower.

I love Joseph R. Biden! Love him!!!

6. It was absolutely amazing. All races. All colors. All religions. All kinds of people.

Lots of visitors from other countries.

And, can I say that I've fallen in love with Biden even more after yesterday. Here's a man of the people. He's genuine. He's thoughtful. He's just EVERYTHING! Love Biden!!

As for our president, did you see Rachel's opening segment last night? It was about how the president--as he was heading out of the Capitol--turned around to look at the crowd. While everyone else walked by him, he took the crowd in, reportedly saying, "Wait, let me take this in one more time; I'll never see this again." Also, Malia beckoned the photographer to take pics of the crowd as her Daddy watched one last time. It was so beautiful. We have a wonderful president!!!!
