Question about Romney winning...

I know, the thought, the horror ... the pain! But stay with me...

Had Romney won, he would have been sworn in today, a Sunday, and officially become president. But would he have moved into the White House today or would that wait until tomorrow? I ask for a few reasons:

1) If he moved in today, where would the Obamas then go? Would it be practical to fly back to Chicago and then return extremely early Monday morning to attend the Inauguration?

2) If they didn't remain in the White House, how would the morning tea at the White House be handled? Tradition dictates the outgoing First Couple has over the incoming First Couple. But if Romney was already president, and in the White House ... ?

Pointless questions, I know, but it just left me wondering how it would've worked.

Thankfully, I never had to find out officially.

1. It didn't happen - thank God or the Force or whoever - so I don't care.

In fact, I'd just about forgotten about the Romneys, so if it's all the same to you I'd rather not start thinking about them again. Ever.

We sure dodged a bullet, didn't we?

2. I Think There is More Than Enough Guest Space at the WH

Seems they could have just planned appropriately and had them as guests tonight. No matter how much that would have ruffled Queen Ann's feathers.

3. OK here you go:

1) If Romney moved into the white house it would have been on November 7th. The Rethugs would have insisted that Obama was now a carpetbagger that had overstayed his welcome and pressured him out immediately.
2) An Romney would not be caught dead serving tea to black folks--don't you know that? She made it very clear during the election that she has given "you people" (i.e., Obamas) all that they are going to get. She might throw something on their way out but she certainly would not welcome them back. And the hell with "tradition", Mitt Romney paid good money to occupy the white house and he does not give a damn about following some tradition. And yes in right wing world, Romney is really the "legitimate" president since Obama was born in Kenya--uh huh.

4. For #1, a Hotel for the night likely.

For #2, there wouldn't be a morning tea. Romney as a Mormon wouldn't drink anything containing caffeine.

Thank Goodness that never came to pass.

just such occasions.
