It's simple to change a magazine, it's meant to be simple. The fact that magazine-fed weapons are so easy to use could be used as an argument against their sale -- I'm kind of surprised it hasn't been.

Anyway, Graham is a former air force officer in the justice department -- I'd be surprised if he was ever trained to use an M-16.

The Sandy Hook Shooter was reported to have 3 30-round magazines. 90 rounds. Managing 3 magazines is trivial.

Let's say AR-15 magazines are limited to 5 rounds. That means he'd have to carry 18 magazines to carry the same amount of ammo. That is much more awkward. So he'd probably have carried fewer than 18.

Less ammo on hand means less dead people.

The fact that the shooter might screw up, as in the Giffords shooting, is a bonus.
