Newt Gingrich: Obama bullying House GOP

President Barack Obama is attempting to “bully” House Republicans over the debt ceiling, and the GOP should seek a different fight, Newt Gingrich said on Tuesday.

“This president is deliberately seeking confrontation,” Gingrich, a 2008 presidential hopeful, said on CBS’s “CBS This morning.” “I think he’s going out of his way to bully the House Republicans.”

Gingrich said that instead of getting bogged down in a battle over raising the debt ceiling, House Republicans should find leverage by turning to continuing resolutions and the sequester.

“Asking Barack Obama not to be a big-spending, high-taxing liberal is a denial of everything we’ve learned about him in his career,” Gingrich said. “It’s much better for the House Republicans to say, ‘This is what we’re prepared to do: we’ll pass a year-long continuing resolution for national security…There are dozens of places you can dramatically change spending without having to get involved in a general crisis over the U.S. debt.”

4. "Bullying"?

It sounds like even he realizes that President Obama actually has the upper hand here and knows this is a real loser for Republicans. He should know, after all. Of course, he helped create this mess by stoking the crazies in the first place.

14. I believe it was actually twice

the government shut down because of the budget. It reminds me of the episode from The West Wing. Bartlett knocked on the table and said, "shut it down".

8. Newt considers himself one of America's preeminent historians.

And if he thinks what President Obama is doing to be bullying, I wonder what he thinks about what LBJ did?

9. This is why you're on the outside looking in you jackass.

Meant for Newt, not you Redfairen.

BTW, Newt, where the fuck are the high taxes? Because taxes are still at historic lows. Big spending? Really? Government spending under PBO is only up 1.4% Remind me how much Reagan raised spending, how about either Bush?

Newt is such an ignorant fool.
