Are we seeing a different Obama strategy on dealing with Republican obstructionism?

A cursory reading of the DU Frontpage:

* Biden On Guns: Executive Order Is On The Table
* Barack Obama 'seriously considering' hosting climate summit
* Obama considers leaving no troops in Afghanistan
* Under Questioning, Jay Carney Leaves Platinum Coin Wriggle Room

It appears this administration is opening up multiple fronts and using the inherent power of the Executive Branch to circumvent the House obstructionism. Hopefully, fundamental changes in the Senate filibuster rules will force the Obstructionists to put up or shut up and stop hiding behind tactics that keep legislative votes from being done on key issues that demonstrate the contrasting positions of both Parties. Meanwhile, in the House, the Republican agenda wants to confer citizenship on blastocysts, continue their war on women/healthcare, and grandstand on Benghazi. No interest in producing bills that put Americans back to work.

If the priorities of the Obama administration and Democrats vs. the Teapublicans continue on these tracks, I think 2014 will deliver the same message sent in 2012 - the American people want a sane Party in charge of their federal government.

1. He's certainly being less conciliatory than in his first term. He doesn't seem

to be trying to make common ground with the GOP first anymore, he's just announcing what he will do. I like it.

2. He understands that being conciliatory with recalcitrants just doesn't work.

He only has four years left to get things done, and he's going to do his damnedest despite Teapublican dogged obstructionism.

I also believe he's putting Biden forward more and more for 2016.
