Please sign petition telling the Senate to fix the filibuster:

I just signed a petition telling the Senate to fix the filibuster. I hope you do, too.

You can find out more information and easily sign the petition at the website below:

1. Signed it!

I signed for the talking filibuster, it is so much better than the watered down version some Senators are peddling.

3. Many thanks. We've had too much obstruction in the Senate from the right-wingers

the past 4 years, and they have the nerve and cynicism to criticize Obama as a
president who has done little or nothing. What BS artists the right-wingers are!

5. Many thanks. I hope we all will contribute to stopping the abuse of the filibuster by the

right-wingers, who have to a large extent, succeeded in preventing Congress from doing
its job. The situation now has become a dictatorship of the minority over the majorityl

6. Unrec

"Signing" a web-based petition won't convince a single US Senator. Take a few minutes out of your blog posting day and write an actual letter, in your own words, about why filibuster reform is important. Better still, pick up the phone and call your Senator(s) to demand action. Personally, I've spoken directly to 15 Senators (including Harry Reid) about my belief that filibuster reform is essential, and have let DSCC know that my check-book will be closed to any Senate candidate who doesn't support it.

11. Not a good idea

Be careful what you ask for....its not a good idea to allow presidents to get their judges confirmed with 50 votes.
musical_soul is right....this came in very handy during the Bush years. Only a fool would think that the Democrats will hold
the Presidency and / or Congress forever. What then? A petition to bring it back?

the right-wingers do. Right-wingers, of course, don't feel embarrassment -- ever.

Also, we intend to make them work just a little harder to filibuster. They'll
have to give their reasons why and let everyone know how they think
and what their values are. Right now, all they have to do is to say
"We'll filibuster," and the bill goes off the table. It wasn't this easy when
the filibuster first began.
